The Museum of the Bible

Moody Radio’s Janet Parshall broadcasts live from historic grand opening in nation’s capital on Friday, November 17

The Museum of the Bible opened on Friday, Nov. 17, with Moody Radio’s In The Market with Janet Parshall taking part in the historic occasion.

The museum opened its 40-foot tall doors to the general public for the first time, of which the first chapter of Genesis is inscribed in Latin. The elaborate eight-floor, 430,000-square-foot campus, known as Museum of the Bible, is located three blocks south of the United States Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.

“I am thrilled to be broadcasting at the opening of the Museum of the Bible in Washington,” said Janet Parshall, host of Moody Radio’s award-winning In the Market with Janet Parshall in advance of the live broadcast. “This may be one of the most important buildings in a city filled with history and majesty and I believe will be one of the most visited spots in Washington."

Host Janet Parshall with Steve and Jackie Green, founders of Hobby Lobby and the Museum of the Bible.

Parshall hosted her nationally-syndicated show live from the grand opening of the Museum of the Bible. She was able to share of some of the profoundly significant items featured in the museum and why it is like no other in Washington. Founders of the museum and Hobby Lobby, Steve and Jackie Green, also joined Parshall on the program. Steve Green also serves as chair of the Museum of the Bible.

"Washington is a town filled with many prestigious museums celebrating cultures, history and various ethnicities,” added Parshall. “But, no museum is more impacting than the newly built Museum of the Bible. Wandering through the exhibits and displays, visitors are reminded that the most widely read and most frequently published book in the world is remarkably different from any other book. Its content has generated major social change, served as the basis of our national government, and taught us how to love our fellow man.”
