“Sam brings a vast amount of marketing experience to this role, and most importantly, a heart to serve the Lord,” said Steve Mogck, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Moody. “He has a proven track record of building, managing and mentoring high-performing teams that effectively use traditional and digital media to execute successful marketing campaigns. We are excited to see how the Lord is going to work through Sam’s leadership at Moody in our mission to go across the globe, cultures and generations with the truth of God’s Word.”
Throughout his 25-year career, Choy has served in marketing leadership roles for a variety of companies in the financial, technology and energy sectors. Most recently, he was the director of global marketing for the Building Technologies Division of Siemens, a multinational engineering and electronics company. Choy has also served as an advisor and coach to non-profit organizations and start-ups.
As a member of the senior leadership team, Choy will serve as the chief brand advocate and lead Moody’s overall marketing and communications strategy. Three departments will report directly to Choy—Integrated Marketing Communications, Public Relations and Event and Guest Services. He will also work collaboratively with Moody’s marketing teams in education, radio and publishing.
“I’m thrilled to be part of an organization with such a rich tradition of loving, serving and touching the lives of millions all over the world through the Word of God,” said Choy. “I look forward to serving alongside Moody’s leadership team in the development and execution of key strategies to impact current and future generations for the sake of the Kingdom.”
Choy earned a B.S. in Management from University of Illinois at Chicago, as well as an M.B.A. in Marketing from DePaul University in Chicago. Currently, he is an adjunct business instructor at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Ill., and previously served as the head women’s volleyball coach at Moody Bible Institute from 2012 to 2015.
