Moody Bible Institute Names Vice President and Dean of Student Enrollment Services
Mr. Anthony Turner promoted to new leadership role at Moody
Moody Bible Institute’s dean of student enrollment services, Tony Turner, has been promoted to vice president and dean of student enrollment services, effective July 1, 2016. The announcement was made on Wednesday, June 1, 2016.
“Tony is an excellent administrator and has inspiring leadership skills,” said Dr. Junias Venugopal, Moody’s provost and dean of education. “Admitting godly Christians to our various programs so they are equipped to fulfill the Great Commission is an incredibly crucial area for Moody. Tony has proven that he has the knowledge and understanding of enrollment along with student services to continue to be successful.”
Following the integration last year of undergraduate, seminary and distance learning faculty into one body under a set of unified guidelines and educational outcomes, Moody’s Student Services area was split into two areas: Student Life and Student Enrollment Services. Student Life is led by Dr. Tim Arens. Areas underneath Turner’s leadership in Student Enrollment Services will include Admissions, Education Marketing, Student Experience, Registrar, Financial Aid, Alumni Association and Career Development.
In his new role, Mr. Turner will be responsible for the recruitment, marketing, retention and overall enrollment processes of Moody Bible Institute, Moody Theological Seminary and MBI Distance Learning.
“The need to recruit and train students for ministry is greater today than ever before,” said Turner.
“I believe the most important role that I have is helping potential students see that Moody is the place to be trained and engage our world with the life changing message of Christ. I am very grateful and humbled by the opportunity to serve in this capacity.”
Turner has been with Moody for six years, and has also served as an admissions counselor for Moody Theological Seminary, director of extension sites, and associate dean of graduate and online admissions.
In addition to his role at Moody, Turner has been an active member of NACCAP (North American Christian Coalition Admissions Professionals), CCU-Enrollment Management Group, and in his local church.
He received a B.A. in practical Christian training from Bob Jones University, an M.A. in Evangelism and Church Planting from Liberty University, and is currently pursuing an ED.D in Higher Education with an emphasis in leadership from Northcentral University.
He and his wife, Zan, have been married for eight years and live in Streamwood, Ill. They have two daughters and one son.
