Pastors’ Conference 2017
Church and ministry leaders to gather on Moody’s Chicago Campus for a time of encouragement and equipping
Moody Bible Institute's annual Pastors’ Conference will take place May 22-25.
“Church and ministry leaders from around the country will once again gather together on our Chicago campus for a week of encouragement and equipping,” said Dr. Paul Nyquist, president of Moody Global Ministries. Dr. Nyquist will kick off this year’s Pastors Conference the evening of May 22. “We are honored to have the opportunity for a few days to serve these men and women who are making an impact for Christ around the world and build into them so that they can be strengthened in the roles and areas the Lord has called them.”
General session messages will be given by Erwin Lutzer, Crawford Loritts, Derwin Gray, and others. Additionally, there are over multiple workshops geared toward strengthening church and ministry leaders in a variety of areas in their life and ministry. Workshops include “Counseling” with Deb Gorton of Moody Theological Seminary, “Media and Technology in Ministry” with Brian Kammerzelt of Moody Bible Institute, and “Communicating God's Word” with Winfred Neely of Moody Bible Institute.
On Thursday, May 25, there will be a bonus workshop presented by the Barna Group called “The State of Pastors.” The workshop will address how today’s faith leaders are navigating life and leadership in an age of complexity. In spite of daunting challenges, called and committed pastors are essential to lead God’s people. The shrinking, increasingly marginalized Christian community needs wise, humble shepherds to guide them through the wilderness ahead.
Music throughout the week will be led by the Chicago Mass Choir on Thursday, May 25, Moody student Ayanda Khumalo, Tim Stafford and Sergio Villanueva from Wheaton Bible Church.
