Student Commissioned as Chaplain in U.S. Navy
Moody Global Ministries is constructing the Chapman Center, a global media center on the Chicago campus, named for bestselling author and Moody Bible Institute alumnus, Dr. Gary D. Chapman. Dr. Chapman and his wife, Karolyn, gave a cornerstone gift for the project while Moody continues to raise funds for its completion.
For the first time in Moody’s history, Moody Radio and Moody Publishers will be located in a single workspace, resulting in unprecedented collaboration and synergy in the area of biblical expertise and media creation so that more people will be reached with the gospel. Students will also have unique opportunities to learn from and serve alongside Moody’s media professionals in the Chapman Center and take those skills into all areas of the globe to which God calls them.
NOVEMBER CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: A lot of progress has been made this month as Moody pushes hard to have the Chapman Center enclosed before winter. The east side of the building has been framed, and all of the floors’ concrete topping slabs have been poured. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing overhead work has begun along with the first windows being installed on the building. In the upcoming month the roof will be installed, along with the rest of the windows and the exterior wall board will be installed creating an enclosed structure. Photos of the project will continue to be posted on Moody’s Facebook page.
After a recent tour of the construction site with Dr. Chapman, Moody’s senior vice president of media, Greg Thornton, had the opportunity to reflect back with him on his life and ministry with Moody, the vision behind the Chapman Center and their prayers for how it’ll impact the next generation of Christian leaders.
Dr. Gary Chapman and his wife, Karolyn, joined Moody’s senior vice president of media, Greg Thornton, in a time of prayer for the construction of the Chapman Center and its future use in equipping people in the truth of God’s Word.
