Moody Radio owned and operated stations along with select affiliates around the country will begin airing Radical with David Platt on Monday, May 5.
“For the last 10 years Christian radio has been asking, ‘Who are the next group of solid Bible teachers for radio?’” said Dan
Craig, manager of programming for Moody Radio.
“It’s been rather quiet up until now. Moody Radio is excited to bring pastor Platt’s solid, passionate Bible teaching to our listeners for the first time," said Craig. "The Lord has gifted him to preach boldly and proclaim the gospel clearly. His passion and communication style is reaching all ages and we look forward to seeing what the Lord will do through
Pastor and teacher David Platt shares his
excitement and vision
for his new Moody Radio program.
Moody Radio and Radical, the resource ministry of Platt, announced the historic partnership for the new half-hour daily teaching program on Jan. 14, 2014. In addition to serving as senior pastor of The Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham, Ala., he is also a bestselling author and
sought-after conference speaker worldwide.
Messages heard on Radical with David Platt will be taken from Platt’s sermons at his home church and various conferences
as well. At the heart of each broadcast will be a call to radical obedience to the Word of God.
"At the end of his time on earth, Christ commissioned his disciples to make disciples, teaching men and women in every nation the joy of obedience to his Word," said Platt. "As a pastor of a church, this commission compels me to pray every week that God would send out members from among us who are equipped with the Word of God and empowered by the Spirit of God to make disciples wherever they live and to the ends of the earth."
The program will be produced by Moody Radio's award-winning producer, Joe Carlson, and hosted by Aaron Paulus. Paulus is
the director of media and communications for Life Action Ministries in Buchanan, Mich., and he helped coordinate the launch of the OneCry prayer movement.
The first teaching series for Radical with David Platt will run throughout the month of May and be titled Follow
Me, named after his bestselling
book with the same title. In June, the series will be titled Radical, the name of which is also taken
from a bestselling
book by the same title.
Each program will be heard on Moody Radio owned and operated stations and their online streams, select affiliates, the Moody Radio network stream and through the iPhone and Android apps.
